I coached young kids (ages 6+) in Scratch, Python, Java, and C#, and utilizing Python to create graphics via PixelPad. I worked mostly in 1:2 sessions (myself along with two students of a similar age) but also did 1:1 tutoring. Additionally, during the summer, I helped coach camps, such as Beginner Coding with Scratch and Python Startup.
defCode()
Founder, CEO | December 2022 – December 2024
In 2022, I decided to create defCode(), a program dedicated to teaching young students the basics of programming and coding theory, starting with Scratch and evolving to Python. I developed the curriculum for elementary schoolers and then worked with a group of two dozen students at my old elementary school to better their coding and logic skills.
Live Oak Adult Day Services

I worked with elderly clients at Live Oak to provide company, serve food, and lead mental and physical exercise. One of my favorite parts of volunteering at Live Oak was leading the daily word scrambles. I enjoyed watching the clients have fun and working with them to sharpen their minds.
EngageSTEM SJ/MH
Math tutor | September 2021 – November 2021

I volunteered to help tutor a second grader and a sixth grader in math. At EngageSTEM, the volunteering ranged from building the foundations of math to preparing for future classroom lessons. It was difficult working with such a young student, but I found that I got better at explaining math to the students.

Intern | June 2021 – August 2021
I worked as an intern over summer for the teacher who had taught me Java. I answered students’ questions and helped them work through difficult Java problems. Many of these students knew very little about Java, so I found that, by working through the problems with them, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of Java logic myself.
Catholic Charities St. Lucy

At St. Lucy, I packed and distributed boxes of food to underprivileged families. It was really impactful to see how many families, ranging from 2 people to almost 10, were waiting for hours to receive a box of food for the week.
